  • Women are a metaphor in the Bible
    • humans that are designated female by culture; no biology.
  • There is a difference between social and literary conditions.
  • Eve is a metaphor.
  • Menstruation in the Bible is a social condition.

    • Gender asymmetry
  • Male metaphors are on top. Women are deceptive.
    • The culture was worried about controlling the women.
  • The Patriarchs: Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
  • "Man and Wife". Wife is the appendage of man.
